Eastbourne Tennis Championships

14th to 21st June 2008
Devonshire Park

Woman Tennis Player
Eastbourne's International Tennis Championships are held every June at Devonshire Park. The world's best professional tennis players compete on grass courts for the title and prize money of around $600,000, with crowds of over 35,000 people watching on. The event is rated as one of the top 30 tournaments in world tennis.

Originally a women's tennis championship, from 2009 the tennis tournament will become a joint men's and women's event. This move is expected to increase the profile of the tournament as it jointly attracts some of the top men and women's tennis players preparing their build-up to the Wimbledon championships.
