Anglo-Continental Market

9am - 5pm. Devonshire Road, Bexhill.
On a Saturday and Sunday in September every year, Devonshire Road is closed off to traffic and transformed into a typical continental market with over 50 stalls.
Each year, when the market is in the town centre, it really is a busy place to be, with shoppers coming from many areas of the South East
and of course from Bexhill. Devonshire Road takes on a totally different, traffic free, relaxed, continental atmosphere.
This is not only a continental market, we have over 30 local growers and craftspeople attending. We have fruit from local orchards, organic fruit and veg, local farm assured meat, local sausages, local bakery products, jams and marmalade, many local craftspeople selling jewellery, pottery, sculptures, garden ornaments, paintings, leathergoods, cards, silk scarves and knitwear. The award winning nursery Rotherview will be attending with many plants and shrubs, many fireplaces and mirrors from The 1066 Pine Company, watches and leathergoods, the list of traders is growing each day.
Our French traders provide the wonderful smells of a a typical french market we have fresh bread and croissant baked at the market, delicious roasted coffee, pancakes and montelimar confectionery, smoked garlic, cheese, charcuterie and herbs from Provence. Wonderful soaps, tablecloths, enamel ware, honey products and for the first time Creole foods. The mass of flowers displayed by the French Flowerman outside Barclays Bank is stunning and well worth a visit.
This market has been organised for the last 10 years by Bexhill Chamber of Commerce, it is self funding, and is run by volunteers on behalf of the
Chamber and does not have any subsidies or grants.
Bexhill Chamber continue to organise this market for the visitors and residents of Bexhill.
